This Week’s Magic: 4/27-5/3

A Scorpio full moon, a steamy Tuesday, and permission to take your time

If you’re not in the mood to listen, here’s the transcript…

Okay, so last week we walked through a door. Uranus moved into Gemini on Saturday and nothing is quite the same on the other side of that. If you felt a subtle shift in the atmosphere over the weekend, that’s why. We’ll be unpacking that energy for the next seven years, so no rush.

This week is a different kind of week. It starts with a gift, moves into deep water, and lands somewhere surprisingly grounded. Let’s get into it.

The overall vibe

Tuesday gives you a treat. Friday asks you to feel something. Saturday helps you process it slowly. That’s the arc. The universe is actually being quite thoughtful about the sequencing this week, which I appreciate.

Venus trine Pluto — Tuesday

Tuesday, Venus forms a trine with Pluto, and honestly, enjoy this one. Trines are easy, flowing energy. No friction, no pressure. Just the good stuff moving through.

Venus is love, pleasure, beauty, desire. Pluto is depth, intensity, transformation. When they work together like this, the result is that everything feels a little more magnetic. A little more charged. A little more worth showing up for.

This is a plan a date energy. Go outside. Be in your body. Enjoy something beautiful. Let yourself want things and not feel weird about it. The intensity here is the good kind, the kind that makes dinner feel like an occasion and a conversation feel like it actually means something.

Take the gift. You’re going to want the memory of it by Friday.

Full Moon in Scorpio — Friday

Okay. Here we go.

Friday we have a Full Moon at 11 degrees of Scorpio, and I want to start with the Sabian symbol for this degree because it sets the whole tone. The symbol is a drowning man being rescued. And before you spiral, stay with me.

Full moons reveal what’s been hidden. They pull things to the surface, sometimes gently, sometimes not. Scorpio is already the sign of depth, the psyche, what lives underneath, what we don’t say out loud. So a Scorpio full moon is always an invitation to go inward and look honestly at what’s there.

The drowning man symbol is about feeling overwhelmed or suffocated, by a situation, a relationship, a version of yourself you’ve been carrying too long. But the key word in that symbol isn’t drowning. It’s rescued. Help is at hand. You are not in this alone.

Now, this full moon is squaring Pluto, which adds some pressure. Pluto is about power and transformation, and a square creates friction. So this isn’t a soft, dreamy full moon. It’s going to poke at your power dynamics, your buried feelings, the things you’ve been meaning to deal with. Old lingering things that Scorpio energy loves to resurface.

But it’s also trining Jupiter. And that trine is the rescue in the symbol. Jupiter is expansion, abundance, grace. The life raft is actually there. This full moon has teeth but it also has a hand reaching out. The square and the trine are both true at the same time.

This happens all the time in astrology and probably is what makes it so complicated to learn. The science part of it is memorize all of this terminology and string it together. The art part is about intuitively weighing how the competing elements come together in real life. In this instance, we have a square, a point of friction and annoyance, happening at the same time as a trine, a moment of flow and cooperation. When that combination appears, it's all about allowing the friction, the square, to help you adjust to the opportunity, the trine. So whatever comes up for you during this Full Moon, remember that part. Opportunity is on the other side of perspective adjustment.

Now, outside of that, here's what I also want you to do with this energy. Cleanse your space, and I mean really cleanse it. Smudge with whatever herbs you enjoy. Open the windows. Dust. Clean your floors, they carry more energy than people realize. Draw a salt bath if you can. And, most importantly, set aside time to journal, to sit with what comes up, to let yourself feel it without immediately trying to fix it.

Keep your schedule light this weekend. Full moons are not a time for doing the most. They are a time for reflecting and observing. If you have conversations, keep them in safe spaces where you can actually be vulnerable. People tend to be more sensitive around full moons, yourself included, so be gentle with yourself and with others.

The information that surfaces this weekend is meant for you. Receive it.

Mercury into Taurus — Saturday

And then on Saturday, Mercury moves into Taurus, and I want you to notice how perfectly timed this is.

Mercury is how we think, communicate, and process information. Taurus is slow, deliberate, practical, grounded. After the emotional depth of the Scorpio full moon on Friday, Mercury sliding into Taurus on Saturday is the universe basically saying, take your time with this.

You don’t have to figure it out immediately. You don’t have to have the conversation right now. You don’t have to know what to do with what just came up. Taurus gives you permission to sit with it, turn it over slowly, let it settle before you decide what it means or what you’re going to do about it.

It’s the weekend. Use it that way. The practical steps can wait until you’re ready.

The verdict

Let Tuesday be beautiful. Let Friday be honest. Let Saturday be slow. This week is asking you to feel before you act, and Mercury in Taurus is making sure you actually have the time to do that. Trust the sequencing.

That's your magic for the week! Now go make some more. And next week I'm diving into Pluto because the lord of the shadow goes retrograde on Wednesday.
